Physical injuries aren't the only type of trauma a person can experience. Mental and emotional wounds, such as those from PTSD, depression, or anxiety, can be just as debilitating even though they don't leave physical scars. These invisible wounds can significantly impact a person's life, affecting their mental and physical health, relationships, and ability to function in daily life.
Symptoms can range from mental and physical discomfort, flashbacks, nightmares, and difficulty remembering the traumatic event, to hyperarousal, depression, guilt, emotional numbness, and problems with work and relationships.
Recognizing that not all wounds are visible is crucial for fostering empathy and support for individuals struggling with mental health challenges.
Interacting with animals has been shown to decrease levels of cortisol (a stress-related hormone) and lower blood pressure. Other studies have found that animals can reduce loneliness, increase feelings of social support and boost your mood.
Our goal at BlueFeather is to help bring awareness to invisible wounds such as PTSD, depression, trauma, anxiety, etc.
We will be helping individuals affected by these wounds through having them come and just be with the animals. People can come and spend time with the horses, walk a dog, groom, or just spend time with animals. Our hope is that the time spent with animals can help ease the wounds these individuals have.

About us
John and I live offgrid in the Nevada desert. Our home is an older toy hauler equipped with 4 solar panels and a small battery bank. Water Is hauled in via a trucking service.
We have been rescuing horses, dogs, cats, birds and other animals in need since 2010. Seeing our mission needed to support our community's animals, we formed our organization to provide sensible solutions. We've grown considerably since then, all thanks to the helping hands of this amazing community all across the globe!!
We have recently partnered with local animal shelters and rescue group to help animals find their forever humans and homes.
The partnerships we are creating enable us to better help and to serve the community and animals within.

We focus on making the maximum positive effect. Our members and donors provide the momentum we need. Taking actions that make a long-lasting difference in the lives of animals and humans alike. From rescuing horses, dogs, other livestock, and helping humans as well.
At BlueFeather we're all about giving a second chance to horses and other animals. Since 2010, we've been their guardians, providing Rescue, Shelter & Protection when they needed us the most.
Our Cause
